I was born in Polton 1929 and at age 12 went to Lasswade School Walked this road every day and back with about six others for five years. Track not muddy but we went in all weathers..sometimes got the train back Did not know that the track up from the school was called the “coffin walk”. Once after the school Christmas dance walked a girl home who lived at Kevock. Terrified to do the rest of the track on my own at 11pm particularly since the path ran beside the lunatic asylum!
