More Photos

It's the end of the year and I have washed my front step. There is nothing that can be done in the garden with the short days and cold weather. There's certainly nothing to photograph or write about. Instead I am publishing more photos from our year out trip in 04/05 with thoughts of Steve in Florida who is laid -up with a broken ankle.

A house on Long Island NY that we really liked. We copied the idea of chains for down pipes from this one.

Three petalled woodland plant - trefoil something or other? in Canada

Lake country in Canada - a lovely wee cabin that we stayed in with Adrienne. Gerry made burgers here and used a mixing bowl that had been used before for making jewellery. he didn't se the left over glass beads and we had a very crunchy burger!

Adrienne and myself. Wearing one of the many thrift shop jumpers I accquired on the trip.

A bunch of people from the Red Rooster guest house who sent beer tokens down the bar for us. The next day we visited their fire station and local old peoples home. The guest house owner had a rocking chair and it was pretty close to an Alfred Hitchcock experience. The TV in the room was coin operated.

Ah - Route 66

A well known land mark and a photo opportunity for our kilts.

A water tower in Medocino on the West Coast. We stayed there for a couple of nights.

Medocino

Inside the water tower - a pensive moment and a look to Gerry to ask - what are you up to my lad?

That's a large tree

One of those nice photo opportunities

This is the place where The Shining was filmed.

A lovely house sub division in a garden. Great place to stay over.

owner of the main house with a bottle of champagne and a sword. I was given the task of opening the bottle with the sword. It worked.

Seattle - not the coffee shop.

Back to Canada and a friends house. Their dog. The one who ate Gerry's toast before he got into the hot tub.

Would you go to dinner here?
 Gerry giving painting lessons.

Yellowstone National Park. If ever you go to the States - go here. I would put it on "one of the places to see before you die" list. We nearly lost our lives to a bison on the road. What the difference between a buffalo and a bison - you can wash your feet in a bison............too much time with G.

Have no idea why I took this picture but it is something to read.

the joys of travelling without technology - road ahead closed signs.

Oooooh the back of the Whitehouse. Hope MI6 are not reading this.

Florida and the home of our dear friends Steve and Lynn. The kilts again.

Selby Gradens in Sarasota.

I worked on my year out - OK it was only a few days. This is a commercial plasma centre.

back to Florida - Lynn and I getting ready for a night out on the town.

Looks like a thistle to me but this one was in Florida at the Everglades.

Florida again.

Back to Selby Gardens in Sarasota- look at the size of the bamboo.

Only in America......

Destin in Florida - look at the white sand and the pale coloured wood of the fences. I just loved this beach area.

Houses on stilts - now there's a good idea.

the Rod and Reel in Florida - thanks Steve and Lynn. Wish we were there now.

My kind of notice.
